Owls new kits cause a stir

Sheffield Wednesday today launched 3 new kits for the forthcoming season, with the home shirt resulting in plenty of debate among supporters.

The shirt sees a move away from the recent tradition of blue and white stripes, though older fans will recall that Wednesday's past has included plenty of variations of predominantly blue shirts with white sleeves.

This latest version maintains the clubs staple blue as the main colour but this time the white stripes are extremely thin pinstripes, with critics suggesting the shirt looks more akin to what they would expect Millwall or Ipswich to wear.

The away shirt is black with striking orange trim and shirts and the 3rd shirt is white with light blue trim. In terms of material and shape & fit all of the kits represent an upgrade in quality compared to recent seasons.

The kits can be viewed on Wednesday's official website, www.swfc.co.uk and the home kit will be available to purchase at the Owls in the Park event at Hillsborough on Sunday.

The price of the shirts has also raised more than a few eyebrows, with adult shirts setting fans back £55 and kids shirts costing £49.
