Owls offer new contracts to 3

Sheffield Wednesday have offered new terms to 3 out-of-contract players. Lewis Price, Jose Semedo & Caolan Lavery will all have a decision to make in terms of extending their stays with the Owls.

Goalkeeper Price joined the club last season and along with Joe Wildsmith he has acted as deputy to 1st-choice keeper Keiren Westwood.

Jose Semedo is one of the most popular players at the club in recent times. The Portuguese midfielder joined the Owls in 2011 and was influential in helping the club to promotion in his first season. He didn't feature much last season but is highly regarded in and around the club for his attitude and commitment to enabling the club to progress.

At 24-years old Canadian striker Caolan Lavery may have reached a crossroads in his career. He spent time on loan at Portsmouth last season and his chances of first team football at Hillsborough seem limited at best. Lavery may see it in his best interests to seek more regular first-team football elsewhere if he gets an attractive offer.

6 loan players have returned to their parent clubs – Daniel Pudil, Alex Lopez, Vincent Sasso, Aiden McGeady, Joe Bennett and Michael Turner. The majority of these loan players had a positive impact last season and it remains to be seen if the Owls will pursue their interest in them further. There have been reports that Wednesday are looking to discuss the transfer of Pudil from Watford but the player is currently on international duty with the Czech Republic at the European Championships.
