Owls out to finish on a high at home

Sheffield Wednesday face Bolton Wanderers at Hillsborough on Saturday in what will be their final home game of the season.

The Owls currently sit in a comfortable 15th position in the Championship table with 2 games to go. They are likely to finish in a higher position than they did last season when relegation was only avoided on the final day of the season but only 2 wins from their last 2 games will see them achieve a better points tally. A victory against Bolton would also see Wednesday climb above their opponents in the league table.

Stuart Gray is likely to be without a number of players for Hillsborough's last match of the season. On loan Chelsea midfielder Sam Hutchinson is suspended and right-backs Lewis Buxton and Liam Palmer are injured. That could result in Kieran Lee reverting to the full-back role and Paul Corry could come into contention for a midfield role as could Rhys McCabe who has been recalled from a loan spell at Portsmouth.

Bolton travel to S6 with a fine away record in Yorkshire this season having already won at Barnlsey, Leeds, Huddersfield and Doncaster.

Wanderers will be without former Owls loan midfielder Stuart Holden due to injury and the likes of Andre Moritz, Darren Pratley and Alan Hutton are also set to miss out. Mark Davies, who scored in Bolton's win at Hillsborough last season is also sidelined.

The Owls will be hoping to put the disappointment of Monday's home defeat to Charlton behind them where, having led 2-0 they slipped to a 3-2 defeat.

Bolton suffered a 1-0 defeat to Championship champions Leicester on Tuesday but prior to that they had not last in 7 matches. They have not lost an away game since the 1st of February.
