Owls reward is a trip to the seaside

Sheffield Wednesday progressed to the 4th round of the F.A. Cup on Sunday as Chris O’Grady’s late strike saw of the challenge of West Ham United. With the match heading towards a draw and a replay that neither side would have been keen on O’Grady scored with a low strike in front of the kop having been played in by Clinton Morrison.

It was enough to decide a game that was in the balance with Owls keeper Nicky Weaver also taking his share of the plaudits having saved a Sam Baldock penalty early on in the 2nd half.

The result means that Gary Megson’s side remain unbeaten in all competitions at Hillsborough this season.

Wednesday’s reward for seeing off the challenge of the Championship promotion favourites is a 4th round tie against another team looking to gain promotion to the Premier League in the shape of Ian Holloway’s Blackpool.

The Owls will make the trip to the coast on the weekend commencing 28th January which means that their League One fixture at MK Dons which was originally scheduled for the 28th will have to be rearranged.
