Defender features in youth team run out

Sheffield Wednesday captain Tom Lees has moved a step closer to a long awaited first team return by featuring for the Owls under 23's.

The 28-year-old has spent close to two months on the sidelines with a hamstring injury and so was delighted to be involved in the 1-1 draw at Burnley. Lees got an hour under his belt and so will be hoping to be in contention for first-team football in the near future.

He may find it difficult to get back into the starting 11 with Borner and Iorfa having performed well together in his absence but having options to choose from can only be a positive for the team.
Fellow 1st-team defender Jordan Thorniley also played in Monday's match, as did striker Jordan Rhodes who managed to get the Owls goal.
