Owls sweat on injured trio

Sheffield Wednesday may have been delighted to pick up three points against Cardiff on Saturday but they will be hoping that the aftermath does not reveal yet more bad news on the injury front.

Wednesday were made to battle hard for the win and all three substitutions that the Owls made during the game were forced upon them through injury.

Club Captain Lee Bullen limped off during the first half with what is believed to be a hamstring injury, leaving the Owls 1st and 2nd choice right-backs on the sidelines with Frank Simek having been out since December.

Jermaine Johnson felt a kick and was replaced with a little under 20 minutes to go and loan striker Enoch Showunmi appeared to be in pain when he cam off for Deon Burton with 5 minutes remaining.
The next fixture against Barnsley is due to be the Bristol City man's last game of his initial loan period.

Thankfully this is one of the few weeks left in this season's calendar where the Owls do not have a midweek fixture so there is some time for recovery and to further assess the situation before Saturday's trip to Oakwell.
