Owls travel to Nottingham in search of a return to winning ways

Sheffield Wednesday make a short trip south to Nottingham Forest on Saturday looking to end a run that has seen them fail to register a win in 5 matches.

Coach Carlos Carvalhal has a more or less full fit squad to choose from and has plenty of options available to him – the Owls made 6 changes in midweek as they picked up a creditable draw at Brighton.

One player set to return is Fernando Forestieri. The Owls have missed the diminutive forward in recent games as he has had to sit out 3 of the last 5 matches due to 2 harsh red-cards.

Forest are looking to complete a deal to sign Cardiff City forward Federico Macheda on loan but the striker has not started any first team league games this season and is unlikely to feature from the start even if the deal is completed on time.

Top scorer Nelson Oliveira picked up a groin injury in midweek and looks to be struggling. Oliver Burke, former Sheffield United forward Jamie Ward and midfielder Henri Lansbury are also doubtful.

Wednesday have picked up just 3 points from five games which has left them clinging on to the final play-off spot. Their poor away form has seen them pick up only 4 wins from 18 Championship matches on their travels.

Forest ended a 4-game losing streak with a 1-0 win against Preston on Tuesday. They have won 7 and lost 5 of 18 home matches.

The Owls enjoyed a narrow 1-0 win against Forest at Hillsborough in October and won 2-0 on their last visit to the City Ground last season but prior to that they had not managed to win on their previous 5 visits.
