Sheffield Wednesday has today announced that 3 members of the club’s backroom staff have left Hillsborough.

The club’s official website, www.swfc.co.uk reports that Goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer, sports scientist Tom Little and head of recruitment Tim Henderson have all departed and the trio are expected to team up with former Owls boss Brian Laws at Burnley as the two clubs have settled on a compensation deal.

In response to the departure of Mercer the Owls have appointed Andy Rhodes as their new goalkeeping coach. Rhodes had worked in the same position under new Owls boss Alan Irvine at Preston North End. Wednesday are expecting to make further additions to cover the other vacant positions in the near future.
