Points and South Yorkshire pride at stake at Hilsborough

Sheffield Wednesday play host to Rotherham United on Saturday with local bragging rights up for grabs as well as much needed points.

The Owls will be without Royston Drenthe as the winger serves a one-match ban following his midweek red-card for two bookable offences.

Long-term injury absentees Sam Hutchinson, Caolan Lavery, Lewis Buxton and Joe Mattock remain unavailable.

Scottish striker Stevie May will be hoping for a recall as the Owls continue to struggle to find the net.

Rotherham are waiting on the fitness of defender Kari Arnason after he picked up a toe injury in the midweek defeat at Reading. Former Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio remains sidelined due to a heel injury.

The Owls are on an awful run of form having gone 8 league games without a win and they have only picked up 7 points from their 8 home games having failed to score from open play in all of their Championship games at Hillsborough this season.

Rotherham's current form is not much better as they have only enjoyed 1 win in their last 6 matches and they have only won once away in 8 attempts this season but a win for the Millers on Saturday would move them level on points with the Owls.

The two sides met in the 1st round of the League Cup last season at the New York Stadium where the home side ran out 2-1 winners. The Millers also have a good record at Hillsborough having won on each of their last 4 visits.
