Season dying a slow and painful death

Owls embarrassed again

Sheffield Wednesday slumped to their 9th defeat in 14 league games on Saturday as Brenford put 5 past them without reply at Griffin Park.

It was the second time this year that the Owls have shipped 5 goals and the second weekend in a row that they found themselves 3-0 down at half-time.

Garry Monk's side have picked up only 9 points from a possible 42 since they were in 3rd place in the Championship at Christmas. Monk was once again forced to make 2 half-time substitutions as his tactical and selection approach was found wanting once again.

Wednesday are now only 9 points above the Championship relegation zone with 9 games to go and with a potential points deduction still hanging over them for financial matters the end of the season can't come soon enough having looked so promising at the halfway stage.

The team looks spineless and clueless in all areas of the game, something everyone at the club should feel responsible for and a sea change is desperately needed.
