Sheffield Wednesday have completed their 5th signing of the summer on the day that the squad returned to pre-season training.

24-year-old midfielder Giles Coke has joined the club on a free transfer having been released by Motherwell.

The London-born central midfielder made a total of 37 first team appearances for the Scottish Premier League side last season, scoring 2 goals and receiving 1 red card in his spell north of the border.

The 6 foot-tall player is comfortable using either foot and was regarded as one of the most consistent performers in the Motherwell team last season.

Having had a stint at non-league Kingstonian Coke made his league debut for Mansfield Town in 2005 before moving on to Northampton Town in 2007 where he stayed for two seasons, he has signed a three-year deal at Hillsborough.
