Simek and Watson set to make further strides

Owls right-back Frank Simek and utility man Steve Watson will run out for the reserves again this evening as a further stepping stone on the road to first-team involvement.

Both players got 90 minutes under their belt in the 2nd string's 2-0 win at York last week and will be looking to prove their fitness against Leeds at Stocksbridge tonight.

Their imminent return will come as a major boost to Wednesday in their bid to stave off relegation from the Coca-Cola Championship. Simek is regarded as one of the Owls most talented players while Watson has a wealth of experience that can only aid the survival bid and his ability to play in a number of positions will be an asset to the squad.

Striker Leon Clarke is also in line to play tonight for the first time since undergoing a knee operation. A number of other regular first team squad players are also named in the reserves squad for tonight's game, including Peter Gilbert, Ronnie Wallwork, Adam Bolder and Enoch Showunmi.
