Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed today that they have completed a deal to sign Spanish centre-back Miguel Angel Llera on a permanent contract.

Llera, who has already made 4 appearances for the Owls so far this season during a loan spell from parent club Blackpool, has agreed a deal that that runs until the summer of 2013 having now been released by the Championship club.

The 32-year-old, whose previous clubs include MK Dons and Charlton, has been impressive at Hillsborough in his short spell to date thanks to his defensive presence and his ability to distribute the ball. The signing of Llera gives manager Gary Megson plenty of options in the heart of the defence as the club look to maintain their promotion challenge.
