Sturrock flies Owls nest

The club's embarrassing defeat at Colchester was the final straw for chairman Dave Allen and The Owls have now parted with the likable Scotsman.

On a statement on the club's website, Allen says: “Our league position says it all. However, the chairman and directors would like to place on record our thanks to Paul for his efforts.

“Unfortunately, in spite of strengthening the squad this year, we have not made the desired progress and, to that end, we need a change in the coaching staff.”

Needless to say, this will not come as a popular decision and more on this story will follow.

Sturrock's departure put's Wednesday back without a manager yet again as the club contines to make steps backwards rather than forwards.
