The 25-year-old is out of contract at the Fitness First Stadium and Paul Sturrock reportedly wants him to join his newly-promoted club in the championship next season.

He has been offered a new one-year deal at The Cherries but he is mulling things over and reports speculate that he could be making the move north.

"I am weighing things up at the moment but there is no rush to get anything done too quickly, I can say it would take something pretty special to make me want to leave this club though,” he told the Bournemouth Daily Echo.

"There are a couple of other options at the moment. It is not fair for me to talk about which clubs I may or may not have spoken to.”

Purches only played in 16 games last season, starting 10 of those and his fitness could be a worry for Sturrock.

The defender-cum-midfielder had an ankle problem throughout the last campaign but despite his injury problems, he was still held in high regard by Bournemouth to be offered renewed terms.
