Sturrock relieved after draw

Unlikely hero Paul Heckingbottom saved The Owls’ blushes with a last-gasp goal to give Sturrock’s men a 1-1 draw although Cherries fans were angry with the referee for adding on three minutes of stoppage time.

SWFC’s run then continues and now they are unbeaten in seven and the only two places they have dropped points is at Bournemouth and Luton – no shame there at all.

Sturrock said: “I
n Monopoly terms, we used up one of our 'get out of jail free' cards today.

"I was very disappointed with our first-half performance - you can't expect to play a side like
Bournemouth for only 45 minutes and expect to win.

"In the end I don't think we merited it, but we'll take the draw.”

Next up for Wednesday is Port Vale on Friday night. Look out for reaction from Heckingbottom tomorrow as well as exclusive articles with other Owls stars.
