Supporter preview - Hull City

Last season was good for you guys - can you do it again?

A third successive promotion would be a huge task, and I don't think we'll manage it this year. Hopefully after a year or two finding our feet in this division we can start looking at making the top 6. We're definitely capable of it with the resources we have.

What have you done on the transfer market this summer? Which of your new signings are you expecting most from?

We haven't made any extravagant buys but we have signed players for areas of the team where we needed them. Mark Lynch may be the solution to our long search for a decent right-back. Danny Coles may bring to the defence what Leon Cort and Damien Delaney lack. Keith Andrews and Curtis Woodhouse both have experience in this division unlike our other midfielders. Steve McPhee could be the regular scorer up front we haven't had for a while.

Where do you think you'll need to strengthen in the January transfer window?

If the four forwards we've got aren't finding the net then we may need to bring in a striker. Peter Taylor could use his England Under-21 position to bring in some young Premiership talent on loan.

Have you got the right man in charge of the team? Will he still be there at the end of the season?

Peter Taylor's taken us to promotion in both of his full seasons at the club so you can't argue with his achievements here. He's remained very loyal, dismissing his interest in moving to higher placed clubs, and also refused to take the Under-21 job on a full time basis so he could stay with us. He's got everything here that he needs so I can't see him leaving.

Is the club being run well? Are you likely to be singing 'Sack the board' any time soon?

We couldn't be happier with the chairman Adam Pearson and what he's done for the club on the whole. Long may it continue.

Which team do you most want to beat and why?

The derbies against the two Sheffield clubs will be big games, but there's little doubt that the games most fans are looking forward to are the meetings with Leeds. We were struggling to get out of the Third Division while they were on their Champions League runs, yet a few years later we're now equals.

Who do you think are going up?

Norwich have kept most of their Premiership squad and could score a lot of goals. We'll be expecting the ex-Premiership teams to be leading the way in the promotion chase, with Ipswich and Crystal Palace likely contenders.

Who do you think are going down?

We don't know this league very well so at the risk of being naive we wouldn't expect clubs like Brighton or Crewe to be threats to us.

How do you reckon Wednesday will fare in the Championship?

You're in a similar situation to us, just coming out of League One, getting big crowds and looking to re-establish yourselves in the higher regions of the Football League. Staying clear of relegation should be the aim for both of us, and anything beyond that will be a bonus and something to build on for next year.

Wednesday did well at the KC and visa versa - what do you remember from both games?

The Hillsborough game was the highlight of our season, and probably the best game for a good few years. We really rose to the occasion and got it right on the night. The return game at the KC Stadium wasn't quite such a great occasion. We'd already sealed promotion, and didn't turn up for any games after that, typified by your last minute winner. Expect a different scenario when you come back in December.
