Top 6 teams go head to head in Yorkshire derby

Sheffield Wednesday face Huddersfield Town at Hillsborough on Saturday, looking to close the gap on their Yorkshire rivals in the top 6.

Carlos Carvalhal will be without influential midfielder Kieran Lee who may not return from a hip operation this season and fellow midfielder Almen Abdi also remains on the sidelines. The boss has better news in attack however as his options are boosted by the return of Gary Hooper from injury and the arrival of new signing Sam Winnall from Barnsley.

Huddersfield make the short trip without winger Sean Scannell due to a hamstring injury and goalkeeper Joe Murphy has a broken finger.

Winger Rajiv Van La Parra is also struggling to recover from a niggling injury in time to face the Owls, as is Jonathan Hogg.

Wednesday come into the game in indifferent form having lost 3-0 at Middlesbrough in the cup last time out and with their last 2 league fixtures resulting in fairly fortunate draws.

The Terriers easily saw off Port Vale in the cup last weekend and have not been beaten in 8 matches, including 4 away games, of which they have won 3.

Town were top of the league when Wednesday visited them in October but it was the Owls that ran out 1-0 winners on that occasion thanks to a Forestieri penalty.

Wednesday beat the Terriers twice last season but Huddersfield have a decent recent record at Hillsborough having only lost on 2 of their last 9 visits.
