Trio set for summer ops

American full-back Simek has been carrying a knee injury and is set to go under the knife to make sure he is fit for the start of the 2006/07 campaign.

Wood meanwhile, who has been absent with a groin problem for a number of weeks now is also set for an operation.

Adams has been playing well recently and was outstanding against Brighton and Norwich at the weekend but his ankle may need looking at to make sure he does not get any side effects from being out most of this season.

Paul Sturrock has also admitted that he may not be present at the final league match against Derby County at Pride Park following Wednesday's weekend survival.

The Owls boss is taking time out to look at possible signings that weekend as the building for next season is now underway.

Wednesday were concentrating on their play-off campaign until June last year so many clubs got a head start on them in their respective recruitment chases.
