Tykes' eye view

Decent enough start for Barnsley you seem to have adapted well to this league…

Yes and no, we started of great with 2 wins from our first 3 games both away and after coming from behind but since then we've won just once and got nailed in the last minute last weekend thanks to a goal-keeping error. But nobody would have been surprised if we had been bottom by now so we're happy.

Barnsley fans are some of the most fickle in the land; have the people who were shouting for Andy Ritchie's head now gone quiet?

I think we have THE most fickle fans in the country but for now everybody seems happy with "Stitch" in charge. As with what you said about Sturrock, I think Ritchie got us up one or two seasons early. For me he's an excellent manager! But if we are struggling come Christmas the "play-off" fans will be shouting for his head! We took 20,000 to Cardiff but just 10,000 showed up last weekend its ridiculous!

The Tykes haven't got a great recent record at Hillsborough why's that?

Who knows! We never seem to do well in away derbies, just ask Doncaster fans! I feel we have been a bit unlucky in recent seasons at Hillsborough we lost 1-0 two seasons ago and also 1-0 in the LDV in the last minute a while back so we are getting there. Luck should change soon!!

Who are Barnsley's dangermen?

Michael McIndoe on his day is unplayable and he's been "on his day" quite a lot so far this season whilst Martin Devaney and Paul Hayes have looked good in stages. Paul Heckingbottom though has in my opinion been atrocious!

And who do you think you should be keeping an eye on from our team?

If McLean plays I think we should watch him whilst Drew Talbot is a local lad and will want to do well.

If you could get shot of anyone from your squad, who would it be?

Sorry but Heckingbottom oh and Mannone!!

Where will The Owls and The Tykes finish this season? Relegation fodder, mid-table obscurity or a play-off push?

I think the playoffs are well out of both teams reach but I wouldn't be surprised to see one team 13th and the other 14th.

How's Paul Heckingbottom doing for you guys?

Ha, well I think I've answered that question. He was ok last season and scored a great penalty in the shootout at Cardiff but has looked out of his depth in the Championship!

That big ground in Wales is not a bad stadium is it?

Not at all! Especially if you win makes the 6hr journey back extremely enjoyable. it must have fantastic exits as well because 30,000 back and white welsh folk were gone in a flash at the end!!

A prediction for the match on Saturday?

Tight 1-1.
