Owls Vs Swans: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday face high-flying Swansea at home on Saturday as they look to get back into the top 6 in the Championship.

Garry Monk could be boosted by the return of midfielder Barry Bannan with the Scottish play-maker having missed last weekends defeat at Blackburn Rovers. Fellow midfield man Massimo Luongo is not expected to be fit to return from a knee injury and defender Tom Lees is also likely to miss out despite returning to action in the academy team this week following a lengthy hamstring lay off.

Swansea are likely to be without winger Jordon Garrick who has suffered a hamstring injury but other than that the in-form Swans have no fresh injury concerns.

The Welsh side have won their last two fixtures and are the only team in the Championship that have not yet lost an away game. Wednesday are without a win in two games having followed up a home draw against Leeds United with a disappointing defeat against Blackburn last time out.

The dip in form has seen the Owls slip to 7th place in the table but a win would bring them to within a point of their opponents who are currently in 4th place.

The two teams enjoyed a home win each when they met last season, Swansea winning 2-1 last December and the Owls triumphing 3-1 back in February.
