Sheffield Wednesday full-back Liam Palmer featured for 90 minutes once again for Scotland on Tuesday evening as they recorded a home win that saw them finish in 3rd place in their UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying group.

Scotland beat Kazakhstan 3-1 at Hampden Park and although they failed to qualify from the group, the recent upturn in form will give them hope that they can still make next years finals via the Nations League play-offs.

Palmer has become a regular at right-back and after a poor 1st-half showing from the hosts in general, he provided the assist to set up Steven Naismith for the goal that put his nation 2-1 up in the 2nd half. The Owls full-back played a one-two on the edge of the penalty area and got to the by-line with his deflected cross headed home from close range.

Scotland will find out who they will face in the play-offs when their semi-final draw is held on Friday.
