Owls boss side-lined by positive test

Sheffield Wednesday were without 1st team manager Darren Moore for their Championship clash with Watford on Good Friday as he has received a positive COVID test result.

Assistant manager Jamie Smith took charge of the team at Vicarage Road as the Owls suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of the promotion chasers as a result of a heavily debated Tom Lees own-goal.

It is not clear when the test was taken and how long Moore will have to isolate for but it seems unlikely that he will be in the dugout for the game against Cardiff City at Hillsborough on Eater Monday.

Smith stated that the coaching team were in contact with Moore during the Watford game which is hopefully an indication that he is not seriously ill at this time. Owls-mad wishes him a full and speedy recovery.
