Owls Vs Rovers: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday face Blackburn Rovers at Hillsborough on Saturday as they look to continue their impressive run of form which currently stands at 10 games unbeaten.

The Owls options in attack are limited by a growing injury list. Lucas Joao may not feature again this season due to a knee injury, Fernando Forestieri is sidelined with a hamstring problem and Gary Hooper is not ready to return to first team action. Sam Winnall is available but is having to play with a face mask having recently broken his nose and Steven Fletcher is nursing a minor knock.

Fletcher and Winnall are likely to be the preferred choice on Saturday if they are passed fit. Nuhiu and Matias are also available though Nuhiu was substituted early in the second half at Bolton on Tuesday having failed to make much of an impression on the game.

Blackburn have a few injury concerns of their own with the likes of Jack Rodwell, Danny Graham and Amari Bell all facing fitness tests ahead of the game. Defender Charlie Mulgrew is struggling with a hamstring injury and may not be risked with the international break coming up after this game.

Wednesday have lost only once in the Championship since mid-December and having moved to within 4 points of the top 6 in what is a very congested league table. Blackburn ended a 7-match winless run with a 3-0 victory over Wigan on Tuesday evening and they beat the Owls 4-2 when the teams last met at Ewood Park back in December.
