FA rule ref got it wrong
Sheffield Wednesday will be able to call upon Massimo Luongo in the next three matches as the midfielder has seen his red card against Blackburn rescinded.
The 27-year-old was dismissed during the first half of Saturday's home game against Rovers, after which the Owls collapsed to an embarrassing 5-0 defeat having been 1-0 down at the time.
The Owls made an official appeal to the FA against the decision taken by referee Jarred Gillett and that appeal has now been upheld. Luongo will now be available to face his former club QPR in the 4th round of the FA Cup on Friday.
