Wednesday Vs QPR: Team news

Sheffield Wednesday will be forced into making a number of changes for Saturday's visit of QPR to Hillsborough.

The Owls are without suspended midfielders Adam Bolder and Jermaine Johnson, Ronnie Wallwork is likely to fill the gap in the centre of the park and new loan signing Franck Songo'o could well take the place of JJ on the wing.

Wade Small faces a late fitness test and will be in contention for a place in the starting line-up with Burton O'Brien if he is passed fit.

The Owls injury list has continued to grow in recent weeks and they will definitely be without the services of Lee Bullen, Peter Gilbert, Frank Simek, Steve Watson, Etienne Esajas, Akpo Sodje, Leon Clarke and Francis Jeffers.

On a brighter note, Simek, Jeffers and Watson are back in training but are some way from match fitness and are likely to be given run-outs in upcoming reserve fixtures in order to rectify this before they are considered for first team selection.

QPR have no recent concerns over injury and are likely to field the same side for the third fixture in succession. Former Watford man Gavin Mahon is still unavailable and if the London club are to make a change then it may well be up-front. Rangers struggled in a 0-0 draw at Coventry in midweek and Dexter Blackstock could be pushing for a place in the starting eleven.

QPR are in good form with just one defeat in their last seven outings, a run that has included convincing victories against promotion contenders Bristol and Stoke.
