Wiggins makes tracks out of Hillsborough

Sheffield Wednesday have sold left-back Rhoys Wiggins to Premier League side Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee, though to be nominal in Premier League terms. The 28-year-old has signed a 2-and-a-half-year deal with the Cherries and this will be the 4th time in his career that he has played for the club following 2 previous loan spells and a permanent deal.

Wiggins only joined the Owls in the last transfer window, moving to Hillsborough from Charlton Athletic. He found it hard to break into the Wednesday team on a regular basis due to the form on Daniel Pudil and was limited to 9 first team appearances for the Owls this season.

With fellow left-back Joe Bennett recently making a loan move to S6 from Aston Villa it was thought that Wiggins would be looking for a move back down south having struggled to settle in Sheffield and so the transfer has not come as a surprise on deadline day.
