Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed that young goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith will keep goal for the Owls in the Capital One Cup quarter-final tie at Stoke on Tuesday evening.

Regular first-choice keeper Keiren Westwood felt a slight achilles strain in the 2-2 draw at Blackburn on Saturday and will no be risked in midweek.

Wildsmith has been impressive when called upon and has taken his opportunities to perform in the League Cup this season, including keeping a clean sheet against Arsenal in the last round. The 19-year-olds assured displays have earned him recent call-ups to the England under 21 international squad.
