Wood aims for Pool comeback

Lee has been out with a groin injury and was hoping to make his comeback in the game at Victoria Park against his old club but it is extremely doubtful that Paul Sturrock will risk him.

Wood suffered a dead leg against Tranmere and missed the Oldham game last weekend but if he comes through a late fitness test, he should play in the middle of defence with Steve Adams moving up to his familiar midfield position.

Matt Hamshaw is expected to play some part in the game after his excellent showing as a substitute at Boundary Park as Sturrock is also set to be without Craig Rocastle, who was no where near fit enough to play last weekend but was somewhat rushed back.

In attack, Sturrock will choose between Drew Talbot and James Quinn to partner Lee Peacock - none of who have hit the back of the net in the last five games.

Paul Gallacher will be staying at Hillsborough for the foreseeable future after sealing a further month's loan from Norwich.

Away from Football, it's worth remembering that today is the 16th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster where 96 Liverpool fans perished in an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest - the fans never came home and will never be forgotten.
