A spectacular strike from youngster Sammy Clingan earned Chesterfield a point in a 2-2 draw against neighbours Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
The 20-year-old, Northern Ireland Under-21 on loan from Wolves, smashed an eye-catching equaliser for his second goal since arriving at Saltergate.
Wednesday were still smarting from their shock midweek defeat at Swindon after a late collapse that stunned Hillsborough boss Paul Sturrock.
But it was Sturrock's men who went in front after nine minutes when Adam Proudlock claimed his third goal since the arrival of the former Southampton manager.
Jon-Paul McGovern burst down and whipped in a low cross. Steve MacLean's neat flick fed Proudlock and the Wednesday striker shook off a challenge and clipped his low shot past Carl Muggleton.
The lead lasted just four minutes and Chesterfield were level after Steve Blatherwick headed in unchallenged after Shane Nicholson curled a free-kick into the box.
Wednesday restored the lead a minute later after earning a penalty that had Chesterfield fuming.
Another McGovern cross found MacLean's head but the goal bound effort was blocked by Alex Bailey, who protested his innocence when the whistle blew for handling. His claim was dismissed and MacLean's sure spot-kick beat Muggleton for his sixth goal of the season.
Eight minutes before half-time Clingan blew a chance when he volleyed wide after Mark Allott's good cross.
Chris Brunt went close for Wednesday but his 25-yard free-kick dipped over. But 10 minutes into the second half Chesterfield were level.
Jamal Campbell-Rice's corner produced a goal bound header from veteran front man Wayne Allison but it cannoned off a Chesterfield player on the line and broke out.
Clingan then seized on the chance and hit a blistering shot from 25 yards which beat Wednesday keeper Ola Tidman.
The visitors should have been ahead after 61 minutes but Tidman produced a brave point-blank stop after Gareth Davies opened a gap and hit a shot from 12 yards and Allott's follow up was blocked on the line by Brunt.
