Wolves 2 - Sheff Wed 2

Wolves had no excuses for their failure to score their fourth successive win as they should have been fully aware of the potential danger from Kugi, who had an unsuccessful trial at Molineux last season.

Since then Kugi has seemingly had a score to settle whenever he has played against the men in old gold.

When the Finnish international put Wednesday ahead in only the ninth minute it was his third goal in three games playing against Wolves.

Kugi was an early threat but he failed to take advantage of a couple of good attacking moves but he posted a warning which was not heeded by the Molineux men.

But in the ninth minute a pass threaded between Joleon Lescott and Lee Naylor found Kugi who flashed a shot home from 15 yards past Michael Oakes to put Wolves behind for the first time this season.

Dean Sturridge and Ivar Ingimarsson both tested Kevin Pressman but the pressure was wasted with some indifferent finishing as they failed to break through the Wednesday rearguard.

Wednesday, bottom but one after their 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Rotherham, frustrated Wolves with little Leon Knight posing some embarrassing problems for Naylor.

But on the hour Wolves finally got back on level terms when Nathan Blake headed home a cross from Shaun Newton, but three minutes later danger man Kugi regained the lead when he stooped to head home a cross from fellow danger man, Knight.

A stirring finish saw Dean Sturridge level the score with his first goal of the season when he flicked home a header in the 68th minute following an accurate cross from Lescott.
