2009/10 was generally a poor season for SWFC and few players will be able to look back on the campaign and say that they did themselves justice, especially in comparison to what they produced in 2008/09.
One of the players that can hold his head up high on the back of yet another impressive campaign is goalkeeper Lee Grant.
The Owls custodian deservedly won both the official player of the year and the players player of the year awards and without his saves the club would have been consigned to relegation long before the final game of the season.
An ever-present in the league for the second season in succession, Grant won numerous man-of-the-match awards, continually bailing out his team mates in the face of some abject defending at times.
Rare errors were highlighted towards the end of the season in away games at Coventry and Cardiff but the former England-U21 stopper was the first to hold his hands up and admit this and his good games far outweigh these occasional blips.
Grant is viewed as a major asset in the Wednesday squad and is sought after by teams at a higher level though he has recently expressed his desire to stay at the club to right the wrongs of the past season.
If the Owls can hold onto their number one we will doubtless be one of the top keepers in League One and a vital member of the team as they bid to make an instant return to the Championship.
