Owls looking to go into festive period in good spirits

Sheffield Wednesday take on Bristol City at Hillsborough knowing that a win will see them move up tp 3rd place in the Championship table.

Garry Monk's side head into the game in 7th place, just 1 place and 1 point ahead of their opponents. Wednesday will be without Sam Hutchinson as the midfielder completes a 2-match suspension but Moses Odubajo could return to the squad having served a 1-match band. Fernando Forestieri continues to be absent due to a knee injury.

The visitors could are expected to be boosted by the return of Taylor Moore to their defensive line up as he has missed the last two games with a knee injury. Tomas Kalas could also come back into the side at the back. Jay Dasilva is also back in training for the Robins but after a long injury lay off he is unlikely to play on Sunday.

The Owls are in fine form having won 3 of their last 4 matches, including a 4-0 victory at Nottingham Forest last time out where Jordan Rhodes returned to form, scoring a hat-trick. Bristol City have lost their last 2 games but both were at home, they recorded an impressive win at Fulham in their last away game.

The Owls beat the Robins twice last season, winning 2-1 at Ashton Gate before following that up with a 2-0 victory at Hillsborough back in April.
