Allen snubs Owls Trust

Allen was deeply upset with Hemmingham showing up at Ken Bates’ press conference and wondered where the Trust's allegiances laid.

Trumpeter in the Kop Band Hemmingham told local media he was not jumping ship, just that he wanted to back someone who was willing to invest in the club .

Allen though took deep offence to this and told the Trust, who have nearly 10 per cent of shares in the club, and let Hemmingham know that he is not welcome at social events at the club.

Meanwhile, Chris Turner has backed his players to come back stronger than ever after they were dragged through the dirt in Bates’ battle for the club.

A great victory against Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend was just what Turner wanted and the exact opposite from Bates’ point of view.

Bates has used all of his knowledge of the media and football to get the fans answering questions of the current board and manager.

The former Chelsea chief has taken back his criticism of Turner after claiming he didn’t know of any goalkeepers who become successful managers, although Wednesday’s boss is not entirely happy about being blamed for The Owls’ current crisis.

He hit back by saying: “They were hoping on the outside that we would get beat, and with the confusion that they have tried to create, the players have answered them as they have had their criticisms and replied in the right manner.

“I’m not going to get carried away but we only want people who want the best for Sheffield Wednesday, I know we shouldn’t be where we are because of things what have happened over seven years and not over fifteen months.”
