Winger and striker make Hillsborough moves
Sheffield Wednesday’s reshaping continued on Thursday with two significant signings. Left winger Marvin Johnson was first to be confirmed. The 30-year-old former Middlesbrough player, who previously spent a spell on loan at Sheffield United, joins on a free transfer having been released by the Championship team this summer.
Another attacking addition swiftly followed with the news that striker Lee Gregory has also made a permanent move to Hillsborough, from Stoke City. The steel city native scored goals regularly for Millwall before moving to Stoke in 2019 and with a pedigree as a Championship striker he could potentially be the clinical goal scorer that the Owls need to ignite a challenge for promotion from League One this season.
Both players will be eligible for selection when the Owls kick-off their league campaign against Charlton Athletic in the capital on Saturday evening.
