Bates in meet and greet

Owls fans will flock to the Dial House pub in Wisewood for the meeting where controversial Bates will indicate what plans he has for the club.

Bates wants to plough in £10million to help Wednesday’s cause although he is disgruntled because he has not been allowed full access to the club’s accounts by current chairman Dave Allen.

One interesting line from a national newspaper this week was that if Bates takes over at Hillsborough, he will bring in Burnley’s outgoing boss Stan Ternent to replace Chris Turner!

Meanwhile, Allen has promised Wednesday’s long-suffering fans that they can look forward to around ten new faces coming in during the summer that will mix both youth and experience in what is set to be one of the biggest revamp jobs in recent memory.

Turner has been linked with Iwan Roberts recently who would no doubt do a fantastic job at S6, but the veteran striker who is leaving Norwich in the summer, has expressed his wish to stay around the Norfolk area.

The club confirmed the signing of Glenn Whelan today on a two-year contract, something that Footymad readers knew a month ago!
