Bitter-sweet for Lee

A 3-0 loss hit the fans hard, especially after the impressive pre-season performances and all the expectation of the new season.

Lee thought was lucky to even be a part of the game, he came through well despite initial fears he would be out for a fortnight.

The former Hartlepool defender went off to make way for Guy Branston, who was also carrying a knock.

Lee told Footymad: "It was a very disappointing start to the season, we were all gelling well in pre-season but we didn’t play well against Colchester."

On his injury, he said: "I got through the game with my injury OK and I was happy that I didn’t get a reaction so I am pleased about that, but not with the result.

"I only came back to training on Wednesday with the youth team then a training session with the senior squad before Saturday’s game. I was disappointed when I got the injury after last season’s problems."
