Boss' rallying call

The Owls manager wants full backing from all Wednesdayites as he bids to get the club off the mark with their first home win of the season against Derby.

But the Scot believes he has been misquoted by the press and asks the Wednesday faithful to get behind Northern Ireland international Brunt, who Sturrock believes has come in for some unfair stick.

He told the club's official site: "Way back I made a tongue-in-cheek comment about Chris which has put him under the microscope much more than I would have liked.

"When I associated him with being lazy, I was talking about his style but as usual it came out differently in some national newspapers.

"There has been a boo-boy mentality towards him. In the circumstances we're in, Id ask everyone to get behind the team."
