Boss to stick with squad

The Owls boss believes that the club have the squad to be able to compete in the championship despite their tragic injury record of late.

In the draw against QPR, Wednesday lost Glenn Whelan, Lee Peacock and Drissa Diallo to add to their other crocks who include Lee Bullen, JP McGovern, Steve Adams, Steven MacLean and Drew Talbot.

Even though Wednesday lost three players in the game due to injury and John Hills because of a red card, they are all expected to be fit in two weeks time.

Because tonight's game with Cardiff was postponed because of international call-ups, it gives Wednesday more time to rest their injured players in preparation for their next game at Leicester City on September 10.

It is hoped that Paul Heckingbottom will have returned by then because Hills will be suspended.
