Boss worried about Owls starts

The Owls were terrible in the first period against Torquay on Saturday and while they were still sleeping as they emerged for the second half, The Gulls had made it 2-0.

But Wednesday showed great spirit and came back to get a draw thanks to goals from Lee Bullen (who was cheered on by about 50 fans from north of the border) and new boy Graham Barrett.

And as the season draws to a close, Sturrock wants his team to play in the first half like they do in the second otherwise their league position will suffer.

He said: "It's like night and day - the second half was miles different. Over the long term, we've got to get to grips with why we start like we do.

"Every game is difficult at this stage of the season because there's so much at stake. As long as we are in the top six at the end of the season I will be very happy."
