Owls Vs Royals: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday take on struggling Reading at Hillsborough on Saturday with Steve Bruce taking charge of his first home game.

The Owls manager has included all 3 transfer deadline day signings in his squad so Rolando Aarons, Dominic Iorfa and Achraf Lazaar could all make their home debuts.

Fernando Forestieri is expected to be fit and Lucas Joao will be hoping to get back into the starting line-up having scored the later winner in a substitute appearance at Ipswich Town last weekend. Wednesday will be without midfielder Josh Onomah due to a hamstring injury.

Reading travel north without on-loan striker Nelson Oliveira who suffered multiple breaks to his nose when Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings landed his boot in the face of the striker who was on the ground at the time. Garath McCleary has suffered with illness during the week and will be assessed ahead of the game.

Wednesday have won their last two league games and have only suffered one league defeat since mid-December. Reading have only suffered one defeat in their last four league games but only have one away win in the Championship this season.

The Owls enjoyed a 2-1 at Reading back in September and beat the Royals in the league and F.A. Cup at Hillsborough last season and will be hoping to keep up their good recent form against the Royals who currently sit in the relegation zone, 1 point behind Rotherham United.
