Can Owls avoid being stung against promotion chasers?

Sheffield Wednesday face Brentford on Tuesday evening in their penultimate home game of the season.

This comes on the back of a 1-1 draw against Charlton on Saturday and although the Owls didn't suffer any additional injury or suspension concerns during that game, manager Stuart Gray could choose to freshen up his line up with another tough game at table-topping Bournemouth to follow at the weekend.

Striker Caolan Lavery looked sharp at the weekend and will hope to keep his place. Fellow forward Sergiu Bus could be one that Gray may leave out as the striker has only recently returned from a month-long injury lay-off. Stevie May and Atdhe Nuhiu could return to the starting 11 if this is the case.

Jose Semedo has taken pain-killing injections in an attempt to overcome a foot injury and may make a return at some point before the end of the season and Jacques Maghoma is another player who could feature if Gray opts for fresh legs.

Brentford travel to Hillsborough having drawn 1-1 at Derby at the weekend in a game that the dominated only to be denied victory in the closing stages.

The Bees are likely to continue to be without the services of on-loan Everton striker Chris Long due to a knee injury but they came through Saturday's draw unscathed and are are not expected to make many changes.

Wednesday are without a win in 3 matches and have won just 1 of their last 6 games. Their dismal home form which has seen them win just 4 of 21 games, scoring only 14 times in the process is the worst record in the division. A win could see the Owls rise to 11th place but a defeat may see them plummet as low as 15th.

Brentford have only lost 1 of their last 6 matches though 3 of these have resulted in draws. The Londoners are currently in 7th place, outside the play-off positions on goal difference with 4 matches remaining.

The two sides played out a 0-0 draw when they met at Griffin Park back in October and Brentford have only lost 1 of their last 7 matches at Hillsborough.
