Brentford Vs Wednesday: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Griffin Park on Sunday afternoon to take on Brentford as they search for their first win of the season in the Championship. The Owls beat Sunderland 2-0 in the League Cup on Thursday and will be hoping they can carry that success into this fixture.

Jos Luhukay fielded a mix of youth and experience at the Stadium of Light and is expected to make 5 or 6 changes. Current 1st choice goalkeeper Cameron Dawson is likely to return to the side as are the likes of Sam Hutchinson and Joey Pelupessy. Influential forward Fernando Forestieri will also be back in the side if he is passed fit having picked up a groin injury in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Hull City. Lucas Joao will be assessed for a similar issue and Atdhe Nuhiu is available having been suspended last weekend.

Brentford have no new injury or suspension issues to concern them and will be looking ton continue their impressive start to the season. The Bees opened their campaign with a 5-1 home win against Rotherham and followed that up with a 1-1 draw at Stoke City. They put 4 past Southend in the League Cup in midweek and like Forestieri, Ollie Watkins has scored in both of his teams league matches.

Wednesday enjoyed a 2-1 win at home to Brentford last season but were comfortably beaten 2-0 in the return fixture at Griffin Park last December.
