Can Owls end rotten record against Rams?

Sheffield Wednesday face Derby County at Hillsborough on Saturday as they attempt to end an astonishing record of not beating the Rams since 2006.

The Owls could welcome Keiran Lee back to the squad with the midfielder having returned to full training after spending almost half the season on the sidelines following hip surgery.

Sam Hutchinson is not expected to return from a calf injury and right-back Jack Hunt missed the bank holiday Monday win at QPR. David Jones and Liam Palmer are likely to keep their places in the team if neither are available.

Fernando Forestieri is pushing for a starting place after featuring as a substitute in the last two matches following his return from a knee injury.

Derby will give a late assessment to David Nugent as the striker closes in on a return from the injury that he picked up on Good Friday and kept him out of the last game. Darren Bent is likely to keep his place if Nugent isn't fit to start.

Bryson, Russell and Butterfield will all be in contention for a return to the starting line-up but the game comes too soon for injured trio Blackman, Forsythe and Thorne.

Wednesday are unbeaten in 5 games and have won the last 4. Derby have only lost once in their last 6 and have taken 4 points of play-off contenders Fulham and Huddersfield during this time.

The Owls lost 2-0 at Derby back in October when the home side benefited from a generous refereeing decision when a handball on the goal line was not spotted and prevented the Owls scoring when the score was 0-0.

The sides have faced each other 16 times since Wednesday last beat Derby in 2006 and the Owls the double over the Rams that season. Prior to that Wednesday had gone 10 games without beating the Rams and so have only won 2 of the last 28 meetings between the 2 sides.
