Canaries Vs Owls: team news

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Norwich on Saturday in search of their first win in 6 games. The Owls have drawn three in a row and need a positive result if they are to challenge for a top half finish with six games remaining.

Wednesday will travel without wide midfielder Michael Gray who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury. Striker Leon Clarke is not expected to be rushed back this weekend and so loan signing Luke Varney could start up front after making a good impression against Swansea last time out.

Etienne Esajas could return to the squad for the first time in around 4 months and Akpo Sodje could also feature from the bench.

Sean McAllister was forced off due to a knock against Swansea prior to the international break but is expected to be available for selection.

The home side could welcome back attacking midfielder Lee Croft after injury kept him out of the 1-1 draw at Birmingham, however he has not trained very much recently and so his fitness will have to be assessed.

They will definitely be without long term injury victims, striker Carl Cort, midfielder Wes Hoolahan and former Owls defender Dejan Stefanovic.

Midfielder Darel Russell will also miss out as he completes a suspension.

Norwich have been on a decent run of form of late that has seen them edge clear of the relegation zone. However, despite picking up ten points from their last five games they are only two points clear of the bottom three.

Wednesday have improved on what was a dismal away record by picking up two wins and two draws from their last five games on their travels.

Since returning to the Championship in 2005 the Owls have won all of their three league matches at Carrow Road.
