Carr set to sign

The towering centre-half has not yet broken into The Magpies first team but has been subject to some rave reviews from his academy and second string performances.

Carr has been on trial at Hillsborough and impressed Chris Turner enough to be offered a one year deal.

A new defender is a must for Turner’s hapless Owls, who have leaked unnecessary goals this season in a mediocre campaign in division two.

The Wednesday chief believes that Carr is a ‘winner’ and has the heart to do well and expects him to put pen to paper before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Turner has even insinuated that the youngster could make his full Owls bow after impressing during reserve encounters before the end of the current season.

Lloyd Owusu has still not signed on a permanent basis for Reading which could be a disastrous financial piece of news for Wednesday, as he could walk for free in the summer when his contract expires, and leaving The Owls with nothing.
