Championship action returns with Yorkshire derby for Owls

Sheffield Wednesday make the short trip West to face Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield on Saturday lunchtime in front of the SKY TV cameras.

Wednesday went into the international break on the back of a 0-0 draw in another local derby against Rotherham as their problems in finding the net at Hillsborough continued.

Stuart Gray will be hoping that in form goalkeeper Kieran Westwood will be fit having had to pull out of International duty with Eire last week. Striker Stevie May will be boosted by making his full Scotland international debut against England and will be hoping to rediscover his goal scoring touch.

The Owls have added Watford midfielder Lewis McGugan to their ranks on a loan deal this week and he is in contention to make his Wednesday debut.

Huddersfield have no fresh injuries to concern them and a couple of players that have had spells on the treatment table are close to a return. Striker James Vaughan and midfielder Adam Hammill are working their way towards full fitness but are not expected to feature this weekend.

The Owls have lost just once on the road this season but they are finding goals and wins hard to come by. Their last 3 away matches have resulted in draws and they have not won in all competitions in their last 10 matches.

Huddersfield have won 3 and lost 2 of their 8 home matches in the Championship this season and although their last two matches have resulted in away defeats they have not lost in the last 5 games on home soil.

Recent form has seen the away side come out on top in this fixture, Wednesday have failed to beat Huddersfield in their last 4 attempts at Hilllsborough but the Owls are unbeaten in their last 3 visits to Huddersfield and enjoyed a 2-0 win win the teams met their last season, in February.

Wednesday are currently 13th in the Championship table, 1 point and 3 places above their opponents.
