Following the end of the Premier League season and the completion of the football league play-offs over the bank holiday weekend the full list of opponents for the Owls in the Championship next season can be confirmed.

Making way following their relegation last season will be Charlton, Southampton and Norwich. There will be a few Owls fans disappointed to see the back of the Addicks and the Canaries as these were always popular away trips and certainly in the case of Norwich they have been good for a fair few points for us in recent seasons.

These three teams will be replaced by Leicester City and Peterborough following their automatic promotion and they will be joined by Scunthorpe who return at the first time of asking having triumphed over Millwall in the League 1 play-off final.

As is usually the case, the three teams relegated from the Premier League will all be hot tips with the bookies to have an instant impact in the Championship. Wednesday can look forward to games against West Brom, Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

Leaving to make way for these three clubs are Wolves and Birmingham via automatic promotion to the Premier League. Our final league opponents for next season were confirmed yesterday as a result of the Championship play-off final.

In what is billed as the most lucrative game in club football Sheffield United once again failed to turn up for their big day and Burnley triumphed with a well deserved win so we will welcome the Blades again next season having taken 10 points from a possible twelve against them in the last four games.
