Chinese in takeover talks

The Owls chairman has been under fire since taking over at the club in 2003 although he has always said he will hand over control if potential bidders have the club's interest at heart.

Wednesday's problem could be that their share are too widely spread, especially with fan's group Wednesdayite playing hard ball and not wanting to sell back shares they were given.

The unnamed Chinese businessman brought over some colleagues and unfortunately for the consortium, they had to sit through the lifeless Plymouth game on Tuesday night but apparently other parties are also interested.

The club said: "They have been talking again with the chairman. Dialogue is ongoing.

"There are a number of other parties that have been in contact with Dave Allen about the possibility of investing money in the club and these talks are also ongoing."
