Clarke crocked

Sheffield Wednesday look set to be without the services of Leon Clarke throughout August due to an injury setback.
The striker limped out of the pre-season friendly with Blackburn over a week ago but it had been hoped that this was done primarily as a precautionary measure in order to ensure his fitness for last Saturday's league opener against Barnsley.

The hamstring injury appears to be more serious than was initially thought and so Clarke is facing up to at least two weeks out of action.
With Akpo Sodje's injury nightmare continuing that leaves the Owls with just two fit senior recognised strikers in Marcus Tudgay and Francis Jeffers and manager Brian Laws has expressed a desire to fill the void with a loan signing as soon as possible.

The club have been linked with the likes of Jay Simpson, Any Keogh and Sheffield united striker Billy Sharp in recent weeks but as yet nothing has been confirmed and all of this is purely speculation.
